Report: Benitez has chance to sign ‘very fast’ £20m star this summer and Everton haven’t ruled it out

Everton have been offered the chance to sign Matheus Nunes from Sporting Lisbon, although they are yet to make a decision over whether to make a bid, .
Everton have been heavily linked with Nunes throughout the summer transfer window so far, but it is claimed that this may be as a ploy to drive up interest in the attacking midfielder, who is valued at £20 million ().
Everton have not totally ruled out bidding for Nunes, but that decision is set to be made by new boss Rafael Benitez.
In terms of what Nunes could offer Everton, he would increase the technical proficiency of their midfielders.
“Matheus is a box-to-box player. He’s not so strong like midfielders in the Premier League but he’s very fast. He’s very good with the ball because he is a Brazilian boy. They know how to play with the ball.”
Those comments will surely excite Everton fans about the potential deal.
But whether Benitez will take up the offer of being able to sign the midfielder remains to be seen.
