Report: Belgian side eye loan move for Arsenal player, as next Jack Hendry

Jack Hendry has rejuvenated his career after a loan spell at Belgian side KV Oostende from Celtic, having fallen down the pecking order at Parkhead – and the Oostende what an Arsenal player alongside him.

Hendry, 25, has impressed so much in Belgian football that he has broken back into Scotland’s national side and is playing with such confidence that Premier League clubs have been linked. He could return to Celtic this summer.

Oostende have been looking at ways of keeping Hendry, and are in permanent talks to sign him but Arsenal’s Zach Medley has appeared on their radar, with the 20-year-old currently impressing in Scotland with Kilmarnock.

This summer represents an interesting one for Arsenal loanee Medley. He has done well in his 10 appearances for Kilmarnock, but a move to Belgium could now be on the cards – as Oostende use a ‘moneyball’ approach.

TBR’s view – Medley could be Hendry’s replacement

Given he has starred in Oostende’s fight to qualify for European football, Hendry might return to Celtic and become a part of the side that look to reclaim the Scottish Premiership title from Rangers next season.

While Oostende are keen to keep Hendry amid interest from other clubs too, Medley might end up being more of a replacement for Hendry – rather than his potential future centre-back partner. Time will tell, in regards to Hendry.
