Report: Bayern want Gini Wijnaldum from Liverpool as Florian Neuhaus alternative

Liverpool midfielder, Gini Wijnaldum, is being eyed by Bayern Munich as a cheaper alternative to Reds-linked star, Florian Neuhaus.

That’s according to German publication , who claim Wijnaldum’s availability on a free is tempting the German champions into ensuring they land the Liverpool man.

Coincidentally, it is that Wijnaldum is seen as the cheap option in comparison to ‘Gladbach midfielder, Florian Neuhaus. have previously reported how Liverpool have been offered the chance to sign Neuhaus, for around £35m.

Bayern, though, are put off by that £35m asking price and now see Wijnaldum as the perfect alternative. Indeed, talks are already understood have taken place.

The Dutchman has not signed a new contract with Liverpool and will leave this summer. A number of clubs have expressed interest in the past, including PSG, Inter Milan, and Barcelona. However, it appears it is now Bayern in the driving seat for the Reds star.

TBR View: Wijnaldum needs to just sort a move out, it’s never ending

The sooner we can all stop writing about Gini Wijnaldum, the better. It’s gone on for so long now that you almost feel like wishing he would just make his mind up.

Liverpool accepted he was off a while ago. In fairness to him, he’s not short of suitors. Bayern are a top club and if he lands there, then it’s an almost guarantee of success.

Neuhaus being in the mix is just an interesting development more than anything. It’s hard to see Liverpool paying £35m for him, especially if Bayern are put off.
