Report: Barcelona ready to drop Spurs target Depay’s asking price
Barcelona are aware that they may now need to drop Memphis Depay’s asking price considerably if they hope to offload the Tottenham Hotspur target this summer, .
Depay looks set to be in a frustrating season should he stay at Camp Nou. Barca have strengthened up front with the signings of Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski. Meanwhile, Ousmane Dembele is sticking around.
And with that, Depay does not feature in Xavi’s plans.
Reports have suggested that Tottenham have made an offer for the 28-year-old. The problem is that Depay is not keen to leave the Catalan giants.
Barca had set an asking price of £17 million for the former Manchester United man. But it seems that they are ready to take drastic action to offload the forward.
Depay thinks that he will eventually regain his place in Xavi’s side. And with that, he is only willing to consider offers from Champions League clubs offering a huge salary, .
Obviously, Spurs can offer the Champions League football. But they may have reservations about the terms Depay wants.

However, if Barca drop their asking price, it makes sense to ask the question once again. Some of the money saved on the transfer fee can be put towards his wages.
A move for Depay has the potential to be a real bargain, particularly with Barcelona clearly determined to move him on.
