Report: Barcelona may well go and sign £44m winger instead of Leeds United’s Raphinha now
Angel di Maria is seen as a potential cheaper alternative to Leeds United winger Raphinha by Barcelona this summer.
Spanish outlet report that the Nou Camp club are seriously considering signing the former Manchester United wideman.
Di Maria moved to Paris Saint-Germain in August 2015, for a reported £44 million () but is available as a free agent this summer.
Leeds’ survival in the Premier League means that they can command a higher fee than they would have been forced to sell Raphinha for had they dropped into the Championship.

Di Maria can be a Raphinha alternative for Barcelona
Barcelona’s well-known financial troubles are forcing them to lower their expectations in terms of signings, according to the report.
They say that Leeds do not need to listen to offers below €50 million (£43.2 million) now that they will be in the Premier League next term.
Barcelona have made Robert Lewandowski their priority now, with the Polish hitman looking to leave Bayern Munich this summer.
Ousmane Dembele could sign for Chelsea and it would apparently be far easier for Barca to replace him with di Maria than Raphinha.

Barcelona’s interest in Raphinha always seemed slightly off because we all know that their financial situation is poor.
They have largely been targeting free agents in recent times, and from that point of view, a swoop for di Maria would make far more sense.
That could be a big boost for Leeds, although Tottenham and Arsenal have both been credited with interest in Raphinha already this month.
