Report: Barcelona have asked Bellerin to delay decision on his future

Barcelona have asked Hector Bellerin to delay a decision on his future until the end of the summer transfer window, with that the Arsenal right-back is becoming an increasingly appealing target for the Catalan side.

Perhaps surprisingly, Bellerin remains at the Emirates as the deadline looms. The Spaniard is yet to feature since returning from his loan spell at Real Betis.

There is interest in the 27-year-old. Betis reportedly want to bring the defender back to the club. But there is also a chance that he could return to another of his former sides.

However, Villarreal will not enter into talks over Foyth. And Dortmund are also wary of the letting the Belgian leave without too much time to find a replacement.

And with that, Bellerin appears to be moving up the wishlist. Sport claims that Barcelona have now asked the full-back to delay a decision on his future until the end of the window.

Of course, Bellerin could move on a free transfer. Sport suggests that he will agree to terminate his Arsenal contract when he has an offer from elsewhere.

It clearly does no-one any favours if Bellerin remains at Arsenal beyond the window. He seems highly unlikely to play any significant role in Mikel Arteta’s plans.

He is an ‘exceptional‘ talent who should be enjoying the peak years of his career.

It would be quite something if he ended up at Barcelona. But he may have to be patient if he wants to make the switch to Camp Nou.
