Report: Barcelona and Real Madrid want Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi

that both Barcelona and Real Madrid are interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi this summer, amid reports Mikel Arteta is ready to get rid of the Frenchman.

Guendouzi, 21, has been heavily criticised over the past few days after he was caught throttling Brighton striker Neal Maupay and has since been accused of boasting that he earns £40,000 a week to the Seagulls stars.

Those incidents are just two of a long list of issues that Arteta has encountered with the former Lorient midfielder. The Daily Mail claim Arsenal are ready to offer the Unai Emery signing – with Arteta coming to the end of his tether.

Now, the latest report claims both Real Madrid and Barcelona are interested in signing France Under-21 star Guendouzi. It is believed Zinedine Zidane is a big fan of the Gunners ace.

TBR’s view – What kind of price should tempt Arsenal into selling?

Signed for just £7million two years ago, Arsenal are expected to make a decent profit on Guendouzi should they decide to cash in. Given his age and his ability at this level, Arsenal are certainly in a strong position.

But the midfielder has just two years left on his contract and this summer may be the only time Arsenal are able to charge full price. A fee of £50million for Guendouzi would certainly be good business for the Gunners.
