Report: Atalanta eye Spurs target Takehiro Tomiyasu
Spurs may be confident of signing Takehiro Tomiyasu, that Atalanta are looking to throw a spanner in the works.
Tottenham are optimistic about landing the 22-year-old, according to reports from over the weekend.
In fact, that talks were already underway for the defender.
However, they are not the only side in the running. According to Tuttomercatoweb, Atalanta are working on a deal for the Japan international.
Tomiyasu will reportedly cost a fee of around £17.15 million. And it is suggested that that may be a problem for their Serie A rivals.
Tuttomercatoweb also notes that Spurs want the youngster. And Tomiyasu would potentially be interested in heading to the Premier League.

Tottenham obviously remain a massive club. That is despite their struggles last season. And Tomiyasu wanting to play in the Premier League may work in their favour.
However, Atalanta can offer Champions League football. And they play an exciting brand of football in a league Tomiyasu clearly knows well.
Spurs meanwhile, are still looking for their next manager. So it may be harder for Fabio Paratici to sell a vision to the versatile defender.
It would be a blow for Tottenham to miss out. Plenty of fans felt that Tomiyasu would be a decent signing when the links emerged.
Perhaps news of Atalanta’s interest may spur Paratici to step up his efforts to bring him to North London.
