It is suggested that bids close to £10 million will be enough for Assombalonga, while Villa are battling West Ham for Randolph’s signature.

TBR View – Villa fans may be underwhelmed

After a busy summer, it would not be a surprise to see Villa not make too many signings this month. So the players they do bring in are going to be under pressure to make an impact.

Randolph is a good goalkeeper and boasts Premier League experience. He could be a shrewd signing given that he has been a very good addition for Boro.

The interest in Assombalonga is intriguing. He had scored 43 league goals across the previous three campaigns. But he is going to need a very good run of form during the remaining months of the season to achieve a similar tally this time around.

He has scored six times in 20 Championship games. So it may be deemed a gamble to spend around £10 million on bringing Assombalonga to Villa Park this month.
