Report: Aston Villa to sign Marvelous Nakamba on Thursday or Friday
that Aston Villa will complete the signing of Marvelous Nakamba on Thursday or Friday this week, after the two sides finally came to an agreement.
Talks over a move for 25-year-old midfielder Nakamba have been ongoing for much of the summer window, as Villa look to bring in a midfielder to replace the loss of Mile Jedinak and Glenn Whelan.
Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips was a priority for Villa, but it seems the newly-promoted side have now turned to Nakamba. A deal has finally been agreed after Villa offered a fee that is more than £10.7million.
Nakamba has travelled to England to undergo a medical after missing Brugge training in order to force through a deal, and it is now believed a deal will be completed before the weekend for the Zimbabwe international.

Last season, the African powerhouse managed just 23 appearances in all competitions for Brugge and was hardly first choice for the Belgian champions.
Considering that Villa wanted Phillips from Leeds, who was voted into the Championship team of the year, fans will be hoping Nakamba is of a similar level of quality. But his 2018-19 campaign suggests different.
For a fee likely to be in the region of £11million, Villa are getting a much cheaper alternative to Phillips. But whether he will match the Englishman’s ability, is another question.
