Report: Aston Villa set £20m asking price for Arsenal target Chukwuemeka
Aston Villa have set an asking price of £20 million for Carney Chukwuemeka, , with Arsenal amongst the sides interested in signing the 18-year-old.
Chukwuemeka could well be on the move during the final weeks of the transfer window. His contract at Villa Park expires at the end of next season. And, so far, he is refusing to sign a new deal.
He has been left out of the club’s pre-season touring squad to Australia. And it seems that he may have already made his final appearance for Villa.
Reports earlier this week claimed that Arsenal and Newcastle want Chukwuemeka. In fact, Mikel Arteta views the young midfielder as a potential starter for his side.
And it was hinted that Arsenal may be prepared to pay up to £30 million for the youngster.
But perhaps they may not even need to offer that amount to land Chukwuemeka.

Of course, Arsenal may be wary of paying £20 million for someone out of contract in a year when they are so early on in their career.

The amount of interest in Chukwuemeka highlights the potential he possesses. And Arteta reportedly thinks that the youngster could already start plenty of games for Arsenal.
Certainly, if he gets anywhere the level many expect him to reach, paying £20 million this summer could prove to be an absolute masterstroke in years to come.
