Report: Aston Villa now considering making move to sign ‘extraordinary’ Arsenal player

According to , Aston Villa are considering a move for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.
The young Englishman has entered the final six months of his Gunners contract. Mikel Arteta has that he would like to keep hold of Nketiah, but the striker has rejected all extensions offered by Arsenal.
That leaves the Gunners in a very tricky position. They can either keep hold of Nketiah and risk losing him for nothing in the summer. Or, they can cash in on him right away, and he is not short of suitors.
One club that are reportedly keen is Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa, who are making some big moves lately.

Villa have already signed two world-class players in Lucas Digne and Philippe Coutinho. Both players were absolutely outstanding on their debut, but Gerrard is not done just yet.
Many Villa fans believed that the priority for Gerrard would now be a new centre-back and a defensive midfielder. However, the report claims that they are looking for a striker too and Nketiah, labelled as ‘‘ by Arteta, has been considered.
It is unclear if Villa would swoop in with an offer in the next 11 days or wait until the end of the season to sign the Arsenal man on a free transfer. Either way, he would be a very good signing for Gerrard’s side.

Arsenal have already sold a player to Aston Villa in Emi Martinez recently and many fans of the Emirates Stadium club are still upset about that.
led us to believe that Emile Smith Rowe would join the Argentine last summer, but Arsenal convinced the talented Englishman to extend his deal at the Emirates.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Nketiah. It is extremely unlikely that he will sign a new deal at Arsenal, which is excellent news for Villa and other interested clubs in the country.
The 22-year-old is a hugely talented player and he could become a consistent goalscorer if he gets regular game time. That is never going to happen at Arsenal, but at Aston Villa, even though Gerrard already has Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins, Nketiah could well push to become a regular.
