Report: Aston Villa make loan offer for Islam Slimani
Aston Villa have reportedly tabled a loan offer for Leicester striker Islam Slimani. has claimed that The Algerian forward is keen to make a move back to the Premier League this month, despite being on loan at AS Monaco.
Dean Smith is keen to add some attacking reinforcements in the January window after Wesley was ruled out for the rest of the season. Villa are in real danger of relegation back to the Championship and see Slimani as a good option to get them the goals they need to stay up.

The 31-year-old has been in impressive form during his loan spell in France. He has scored seven goals and provided a further seven assists in just 13 Ligue 1 games. This impressive spell will have come as a surprise to his parent club, who did not see the same Slimani.
The striker has managed just 13 goals in 46 appearances for the Foxes and was deemed by many as a disappointment. Despite his poor previous Premier League showings, Villa are reportedly willing to take a chance on him for the rest of the season.
TBR verdict – Villa should look elsewhere for a new forward

Despite Slimani’s impressive spell in France, he is likely to suffer the same fate that he has previously in the Premier League. Ligue 1 is a very different proposition to the English top-flight and there is a reason he failed at Leicester.
Smith would be better off signing a proven Premier League striker, or a young forward that will be hungry to prove his worth at the top level.
