Report: Aston Villa have ‘agreement in the making’ for £10.8m powerhouse
there is an “agreement in the making” between Aston Villa and Club Brugge for midfielder Marvelous Nakamba this summer.
The 25-year-old star has long been linked with a move to Villa this summer as the newly-promoted side look to bolster their central midfield ranks. Mile Jedinak and Glenn Whelan were released at the start of the summer.
Aston Villa have already spent big this summer, splashing out on the likes of Tyrone Mings, Wesley Moraes, Matt Targett and Ezri Konsa. It is believed they still need additions in the form of central midfielders and wingers.
Zimbabwe international Nakamba impressed for Brugge last season, clocking up 23 appearances for the Belgian side. It is believed an agreement is close to being in place, with the midfielder missing training for the past week.

Villa are expected to meet Brugge’s asking price of £10.8million for Nakamba, who has a contract at the Belgian club until the summer of 2021.
TBR’s view – Nakamba could be a Villa gem at bargain price
Though unproven in the big European leagues, Nakamba has shown plenty of quality in what is still a decent standard. He was also part of the side that beat Monaco 4-0 in the Champions League, and drew with Dortmund.
At £10.8million, Nakamba is a bargain. Compared to spending £30million on Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips, Nakamba at little over a third of that figure is excellent business.
Unproven, but Nakamba could be the needle in the haystack Villa are looking for.
