Report: Aston Villa considering move for Rangers star Glen Kamara

Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard is considering a move for Glen Kamara amid doubts over his future at Ibrox with Rangers, .

Kamara has enjoyed an amazing spell with the Gers. The 26-year-old arrived ahead of the final months of his contract at Dundee. And it is hard to think of too many players who have proved to be better value for money for the club in recent years.

Much of his success came while Gerrard was at the helm at Ibrox. And it seems that Giovanni van Bronckhorst is not as convinced about the Finland international.

Kamara has only featured in three Scottish Premiership games this season. Meanwhile, he has also proved to be a peripheral figure during the Champions League group-stages.

that if he is sold, Gerrard would be keen to be reunited with Kamara at Villa Park.

Aston Villa considering Glen Kamara move

Perhaps surprisingly, Gerrard has not yet managed to take any first-team players from Rangers to Villa. But Kamara moving on may make sense for all parties.

He does not appear to be in van Bronckhorst’s main plans right now. Meanwhile, the Villans have already been dealt a number of injury blows this season with Boubacar Kamara now sidelined.

Villa could also lose Douglas Luiz in one of the next two windows. His current contract expires next summer.

Gerrard is a big fan of Kamara. He has previously labelled him a ‘fantastic’ player. And the pair enjoyed plenty of good times together.

Perhaps Kamara will feel that the time has come for a new challenge. And a move to work with Gerrard again will surely appeal if he is not going to be playing regularly for Rangers.
