Report: Aston Villa and Liverpool strikers on Lazio’s transfer wishlist

that Liverpool’s Divock Origi and Wesley of Aston Villa find themselves on Lazio’s wishlist as they prepare to sell Felipe Caicedo this summer.

Caicedo enjoyed his best Serie A season to date last term. However, the report suggests that he could be on the move during this window, and the money made from his departure will be reinvested in a new forward.

And amongst the names on the list are Origi and Wesley. Interestingly, that the latter will leave the Villans this summer and Lazio have been admirers of the Brazilian for some time.

The report claims that Wesley will cost between £13.5 million and £15.3 million.

TBR View: Villa face tough decision if Wesley bid arrives

Wesley endured a tough first season at Villa Park. He scored just five goals in 21 Premier League games before injury ended his campaign prematurely.

that he cost £22 million. Their reported asking price therefore, would see Dean Smith’s side make a significant loss.

So it may cause a split amongst the fans. Some may be tempted to cash in if they have their doubts about whether Wesley can improve. Another poor season would surely see his value drop further.

But on the other hand, Villa do not boast a lot of depth up front. Smith will surely be looking to sign a new goalscorer during this window, but that does not mean that Wesley will not have a role to play.
