Report: Aston Villa about to receive bid for their ‘marvellous’ player and Gerrard’s open to selling him

, and manager Steven Gerrard is willing to listen to offers for the Burkinabe.

Described by his previous Villa manager as a ‘marvellous technician’, Traore has failed to make an impact under Gerrard, making just five starts under his current manager.

He’s not been named on the bench for either of Aston Villa’s Premier League matches this season, with Gerrard preferring Emi Buendia and youngster Cameron Archer as attacking options.

The right winger, who can also play as a forward, had the best season of his career at Lyon back in 2017/18, scoring 13 league goals and contributing four assists.

, and provided 13 goal contributions in his first season at Villa Park.

However, a thigh injury last season kept him out for two months, and he failed to force his way back into the team.

Villa set to receive offer for Traore

Traore started his career at Auxerre before being picked up by the Chelsea academy.

He followed the well-known path of going to Vitesse on-loan, before another temporary spell at Ajax.

The Burkina Faso international looked settled at Lyon when he finally left Stamford Bridge in 2017, but his two years in the West Midlands haven’t worked out as planned.

Basaksehir are now one of the biggest teams in Turkey, and are currently one match away from another group stage campaign in Europe.

Traore wouldn’t be a big loss for Villa at this time, with Gerrard having plenty of options to use out wide.

If they can cash in on the wide forward now, it may help fund another incoming, with Villa considering bolstering their defensive options.
