In addition to Monaco and Everton, it has also been claimed that Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham are interested, meaning Watford stand a good chance of getting what they’re asking for.

The development comes after Telefoot () reported the player had rejected offers from Wolves, Fulham and Hertha Berlin, and that he wanted to work with Carlo Ancelotti at Everton.

It remains to be seen how Everton’s chances of signing Doucoure are affected, with Monaco known for being an attractive prospect in the eyes of a lot of footballers.

It could be that Doucoure, a French player, would relish the prospect of returning to his homeland after a fine stint in the Premier League.

Certainly the lifestyle that undoubtedly comes with playing for and living in Monaco would be a big selling point.

That said though, £70,000-a-week star Doucoure () is clearly still good enough to continue playing in the English top-flight – at the age of 27 he has now entered into his peak years, and would definitely improve Everton’s midfield.
