According to a report from , Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has called up exciting young midfielder Salah Eddine Oulad M’Hand to the first team for the game against Leeds United tonight.

The 18-year-old, a part of the Hale End setup now, has made a fantastic little name for himself thanks to his performances at youth level. He has scored four goals and has provided two assists in eight appearances, and he could make his senior Arsenal debut tonight.

The Gunners are light in midfield at the moment. Granit Xhaka’s injury has created a huge void in the middle of the park. Thomas Partey and Albert Sambi Lokonga are the first choice duo now, but it is unlikely that either player will be risked from the start tonight.

That leaves Arsenal with Mohamed Elneny and Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the heart of midfield, who are expected to play a part later today. However, the report claims that there’s a decent chance that Salah Eddine could get a few minutes as well.

Arsenal vs Leeds United: Who is Salah Eddine Oulad M’Hand

Salah Eddine is an 18-year-old former Dutch under-17 and under-15 international who currently plays for Arsenal’s youth teams. He is a central midfielder by trade, but he is more than capable of playing higher up the pitch.

The youngster started his career in Holland at Feyenoord. Arsenal, led by Per Mertesacker, snapped him up as a free agent in the summer of 2020, and he is now expected by every Gooner to be the future of the football club.

Salah Eddine has a fantastic shot on him. He is capable of scoring the spectacular, either from dead-ball situations or from open play. One Arsenal fan has even labelled him ‘a clone between (Samir) Nasri & (Luis) Suarez,’ which is some praise indeed. ()

Will Salah Eddine make his debut tonight?

Arsenal seem to have turned a corner following their dismal start to the Premier League. They are now unbeaten since the start of September, and Arteta will be keen to see his side maintain that run.

As a result, we expect Arteta to name a fairly strong side against Leeds at the Emirates tonight. That means a number of senior players are expected to get the nod, which leaves no room for young Salah Eddine.

However, if Arsenal are cruising in the second half, don’t be surprised to see Arteta give the little Dutchman a few minutes in front of the fans. That would be incredible for him, but it’s still unlikely.
