Report: Arsenal’s move for Pablo Mari in doubt; defender returns to Brazil
Arsenal’s move for Pablo Mari looks to have a major question mark hanging over it, that there has been a late hitch during the negotiations.
Mari looked to be on course to potentially become the Gunners’ first signing of the window. The Mail reports that he was looking set to join on loan with a view to a £7.5 million permanent switch in the summer.

The report noted that he has undergone a medical with the Premier League side. And it is suggested that friends have already sent their congratulations on the move.
However, that talks between Arsenal and Flamengo are continuing, it is suggested that the move is now in doubt.

Mari has reportedly returned to Brazil, seemingly in limbo over his future.
TBR View – Frustration for Arsenal fans
It is not clear why the problems have arisen. And it remains to be seen who is at fault for the current situation.
But there is no question that the predicament will be incredibly frustrating for Arsenal fans. Whether they were excited about Mari joining or not, they would have been pleased to see a new defender arrive.
That could still happen, of course.
But after previously seeming like a formality, there is now major concern over whether Mari will be moving to North London before the transfer deadline after all.
