Report: Arsenal willing to let summer signing leave on loan
that Arsenal are willing to let summer signing Alex Runarsson leave The Emirates on loan this month – having already offloaded Sead Kolasinac and William Saliba on temporary deals.
Runarsson, 25, joined Arsenal in the summer from French club Dijon for a fee of £1.5million () but has struggled since his move to North London. In his five appearances, Runarsson has conceded seven goals.
Just two clean sheets has come the way of the seven-time Iceland international. Despite allowing Matt Macey to join Hibernian, Arsenal have identified the need for Runarsson to leave on loan – and will sanction a deal.
Indeed, Championship and European clubs are interested in Runarsson. The Gunners could return for Brentford goalkeeper David Raya, though whether they remain keen after summer interest remains to be seen.

TBR’s view – A loan for Runarsson is ideal
But only if they manage to get a replacement first. Runarsson has made some top saves when used by Mikel Arteta but has also been guilty of some dodgy moments. A loan move is crucial for Runarsson.
However, even more crucial is getting another number two in at The Emirates to replace Runarsson. Such a move to bring in a replacement for Runarsson would then see him have a battle to return as second choice.
