Report: Arsenal watch Hakan Calhanoglu during AC Milan defeat
Arsenal sent scouts to watch AC Milan playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu during their Milan-derby defeat to Inter last night,
The Turkish performer was left gobsmacked as Antonio Conte’s side roared back from two goals behind to win 3-2.
Calhanoglu has been a long-term transfer target for the Gunners, with claiming that he was sought during the January window.
The 26-year-old has scored five goals and registered one assist this season, with AC Milan struggling in Serie A.

Calhanoglu has typically operated on the left for Milan this season, although he can play as a central midfielder, or as a No.10.
Last night he lined-up just behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic and hit the post during the contest.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is keen to add ball-playing midfielder to his squad and Calhanoglu would certainly add that element.
shows that the ex-Leverkusen player has a pass success average of 83% for the current campaign
With Arsenal languishing down in tenth place in the Premier League, Arteta might already have one eye on the summer transfer window.
European football might be off the table next season and that might hamper Arsenal in their quest to make new additions.
TBR View – Calhanoglu is a risk but his versatility could be useful
The goals and assists tally alongside Calhanoglu’s name don’t make great reading.
In 113 appearances for Milan, he has registered 17 goals and 24 assists, whilst at Leverkusen, he scored 28 goals and claimed 29 assists.
At 26, the player is at a nice age and there is some suggestion that he might improve.

One box that Calhanoglu does tick is in the way of versatility.
Money could be tight at the Emirates in the summer and if they can sign a player who can operate in three or four different positions it would be ideal.
It remains to be seen just how interested Arsenal are in the Turkish performer.
He would represent a risk but if the price is right he might complement the squad nicely.
