Report: Arsenal want Champions League star, £21.7m asking price
that Arsenal are interested in signing Olympiakos star Daniel Podence, who scored against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League earlier this season.
Podence, 23, joined Olympiacos in the summer of 2018 from Sporting Lisbon, and instantly starred for the Greek giants. He scored eight goals and laid on nine assists from the left flank during his first campaign.
This season, he has continued his excellent form scoring two goals in the Champions League against Spurs and Russian side Krasnodar in the qualifying stages of the competition. It has caught the attention of Unai Emery’s side.
Podence is renowned for his creativity from the left flank, but is also more than adept at finding the back of the net himself. Olympiacos want £21.7million for the attacker, but the Gunners face competition from Sevilla.

TBR’s view Podence a good player, but do Arsenal need him?
Podence is a top, top player that certainly has the quality to shine in the Premier League. But the Gunners have signed Nicolas Pepe, while also boasting the likes of young stars Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith-Rowe and Bukayo Saka.
The Gunners have options out wide but more importantly, signing a player that will stunt the chances of Smith, Nelson and Saka from gaining vital first-team game time surely makes signing Podence a waste of time.
