Report: Arsenal want £35m-rated midfielder who is loved by Patrick Vieira
Arsenal are very interested in securing the services of Lille midfielder Renato Sanches,
The Gunners arent the only club interested, with AC Milan, thought to be keen on the player too.
Sanches has revived his career in Ligue 1 following a tricky spell with Bayern Munich.
During last season he helped Lille win the French title at the expense of the big-spending PSG.
His form for Portugal at Euro 2020 also caught the eye and it’s perhaps a surprise that he stuck with his current club.
The 24-year-old is out of contract in the summer of 2023 and Lille could be under some pressure to sell him.
It is claimed that Mikel Arteta is a big fan of the Portugal star and is eyeing a swoop for the midfielder.
He isn’t the only man with an Arsenal connection to rate him highly, either.
Patrick Vieira previously raved about the youngster, “He was a big prospect. Last year with Lille, he did really well.
“He wasn’t really consistent during the season but he had some flashes of his talent.”
It has been claimed that Lille wanted for Sanches last summer. That fee could be lower now, however, given that he is closer to his contract expiring.

The Gunners have turned a sizeable corner under Arteta and things look to be on the up once again.
There is still work to do with the squad though and it has to be said that Sanches looks like an ideal fit for the Arsenal ranks.
Sanches only earns and even with a substantial wage rise, he’d be within the wage structure at the Emirates Stadium.
At 24, the player has bags of unearthed potential and he could be a real hit at Arsenal.
