Report: Arsenal to be offered Julian Draxler as part of Matteo Guendouzi deal

Arsenal will be offered Julian Draxler as PSG try and complete the signing of Gunners midfielder Matteo Guendouzi,

It had been thought that the Parisians weren’t interested in landing the out of favour Gunners youngster but they now appear keen.

Arsenal are keen to recoup transfer funds in order to complete their squad but PSG are preparing a cash plus Draxler deal for the 21-year-old.

Guendouzi has fallen way down the Arsenal pecking order under Mikel Arteta and didn’t play in any of the Gunners’ last eight league games.

He also missed the club’s run to the FA Cup Final, which resulted in Arteta’s team beating Chelsea to lift the crown.

Guendouzi earns at Arsenal and his days at the Emirates Stadium do look to be numbered.

Draxler has less than a year to run on his deal at the Parc des Princes and PSG hope he will see a move to Arsenal as an attractive one.

The 26-year-old has played 140 times for the Ligue 1 champions since arriving at the club in 2016.

Draxler, a World Cup winner with Germany in 2014, has fallen down the pecking order and the deal proposed by PSG might be ideal for him.

Guendouzi only cost Arsenal and on the face of things that makes this deal look decent.

Getting the chance to probably make some profit and add a player as classy as Draxler seems like a complete no-brainer.

The versatile German can play in a number of forward positions and that would make him a decent squad player at Arsenal.

Draxler needs to rediscover some confidence but playing fairly regular at Arsenal would help him do that.

Guendouzi flattered to deceive at Arsenal and if Arteta doesn’t fancy him featuring in his squad, he’d be wise to consider PSG’s proposal.
