Bodies needed at left-back for Arsenal

Arsenal are lacking in the left-back department, with Kieran Tierney the only player who can operate in that position. Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Sead Kolasinac are likely to leave the club this summer.

Arsenal are yet to submit a formal offer for Doig. However, Football London claim that the 19-year-old could reject the Gunners.

As per the report, his young age and his inability to fully nail down a starting spot with Hibs means the defender is unlikely to play regularly at the Emirates.

Doig could feature regularly for Arsenal

With Rangers manager Steven Gerrard that he believes Doig has ‘huge potential’, the teenager has plenty of options this summer in regards to his future.

And whilst Arsenal might guarantee week-in week-out football, Doig will certainly get his chance.

With Tierney regularly facing time on the injury table with bumps and bruises picked up on the pitch, the teenager could find himself playing regular football for Arteta’s side.

And although there will be no European football to contend with, the likes of the League Cup and FA Cup will likely see the Scotsman feature often for the Gunners should he decide to make the move south of the border.
