Report: Arsenal target who learned from Dennis Bergkamp has no chance of staying at current club

Reported Arsenal target Arkadiusz Milik is all-but sure to leave Napoli before the end of his contract, according to .

Back in March, Mikel Arteta’s Gunners were said to be in the hunt for the Poland striker, along with North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur () and Everton ().

Milik, who has scored 12 goals in 22 games in all competitions for Napoli this season, is also thought to be on the radar of AC Milan, Atletico Madrid and Juventus, according to .

The Poland international’s Napoli contract expires in 2021 and, although the Serie A side doesn’t want to part ways with him, the player himself has been deemed to be in a “hurry” to seal a move elsewhere, recently claimed.

The outlet said Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis was desperate to avoid strengthening bitter rivals Juventus, but would be prepared to accept an offer from England below their £45million asking price.

Now, has claimed that Milik’s entourage has rebuffed all contract renewal offers and now the only way for Napoli to escape this stalemate is by selling him.

The report also says there’s “not one possibility”, aside from a sudden change in mind from either party, that the player will stay put at Napoli until 2021.

TBR View:

Milik is a high-calibre forward, who boasts plenty of positive qualities including pace, strength, agility, great movement on and off the ball, a powerful shot and an equally strong header.

The Napoli forward has worked closely with Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp during his time at Ajax and, with the Gunners reportedly interested, he could potentially be tempted to follow in his former mentor’s footsteps.

“When I joined [Ajax] we had a good relationship because I wanted to spend time after training working on my technique,” Milik said back in 2016 of his relationship with Bergkamp, according to the .

“We had good contact between us. We text each other and I send him my greetings from here. Dennis is a special person, a player who had a great career and you can constantly learn from him. I try to take as much as possible from him.”

Admittedly his price tag isn’t cheap, but if Arsenal end up selling either Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette this summer, the Pole could be a high-profile replacement.
