Report: Arsenal target to inform second-tier club he wants to stay; Gunners won’t meet £37m price tag
Arsenal target Aaron Ramsdale will reportedly inform new Sheffield United manager Slavisa Jokanovic he wants to remain with the club next season.
, the England international is open to staying with the second-tier English side ahead of the new campaign in August.
As per the report, Ramsdale has already spoken about being happy at United. And it is believed the 23-year-old is not be looking to engineer a move away from Sheffield this summer.
Furthermore, the Blades value the former Bournemouth star at double the £18.5m transfer fee they paid for Ramsdale last year.
Arsenal are unlikely to fork out the £37m needed to sign Ramsdale, as per the report.
The Gunners are keen to sign a new keeper this summer. There are rumours that Bernd Leno could leave the club. The German international has two years left on his current deal.
Arsenal have already missed out on Mat Ryan, who officially joined Real Sociedad this week. Whereas there are also reports that Alex Runarsson could leave the club for Turkey.
A new shot-stopper could become a major priority for Arsenal this summer. Youth keeper Arthur Okonkwo recently signed a new long-term contract with the Gunners, yet the north London side will need more than just the 19-year-old shot-stopper.
However, it appears that Ramsdale won’t be an option for Mikel Arteta’s side in the window with the player and Sheffield eager to continue together in the Championship.
