The Mirror reports that Martinez wants to follow Erik ten Hag to Old Trafford. But Ajax are not prepared to let the centre-back leave for less than £50 million. Both clubs are some way short of that right now.

Martinez however, is determined to move on, and wants a deal done in the next 48 hours. And some of the Ajax players believe that he is ready to force his way out of the club. that it is likely that he has played his final game for the Eredivisie champions.

Arsenal target Martinez ready to force way out of Ajax

Arsenal are seemingly underdogs in the battle to sign Martinez. He wants to join Manchester United. And their offer of £43 million is the higher one, it seems.

However, Martinez’s priority appears to be to move to the Premier League. So if Arsenal put forward a bid Ajax will accept, surely the 24-year-old will be more than happy to consider heading to the Emirates.

Obviously, Arsenal may have their reservations about paying £50 million. But clearly, they rate him highly and are prepared to offer a lot of money already.

So going towards a figure Ajax would accept is surely not beyond the Gunners right now. He is someone who can play in a number of positions. And he has an extremely high ceiling.

And it seems that he is ready to put pressure on Ajax by pushing for a move.
