Report: Arsenal set to loan Matteo Guendouzi to Hertha Berlin

Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi is set to sign for Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin on loan,

The 21-year-old has been frozen out under Mikel Arteta and has been linked with several clubs for the past month or two.

It looks as though Guendouzi will seal a move ahead of the deadline, however, with the German club keen to take him.

The midfielder was often seen as a regular under Unai Emery and was tipped by plenty as someone who could have a big impact in the future.

Arteta just hasn’t seen the quality though and he has preferred other midfield options, with Guendouzi bumped down the pecking order.

Getting the maestro out on loan would be ideal and his absence would free up another space in the squad.

Arsenal will still hold the hope of doing a deal for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey before the window closes.

It could be a busy deadline day for the Gunners as Arteta looks to shape his squad ahead of the season.

Guendouzi earns and under Artera there doesn’t seem a way back for the midfielder.

Heading onto pastures new looks like the best outcome for all parties, none more so than Guendouzi who would hope to revive his career.

Question marks have been raised over Guendouzi’s attitude and that won’t do in Arteta’s ranks.

The Spaniard has worked tirelessly to rid the club of bad apples and offloading Guendouzi could see him get a player out of the door who has no place at the club.

The France under-21 player showed glimpses of his brilliance but ultimately flattered to deceive with the Gunners.
