Report: Arsenal scouts monitor Real Betis star Guido Rodriguez

Arsenal will attempt to snare Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez once the summer transfer window reopens,

The Gunners will be in the market for some new recruits and a new midfielder could be the order of the day for Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal have remained inconsistent this year and as a result, another squad reshaping strategy seems likely in the summer.

Arteta’s men are ninth in the Premier League and claimed a 3-3 draw with West Ham during the weekend.

With plenty still to play for domestically and in Europe, Arsenal still have work to do during the current campaign.

Certain people at the club will already have one eye on the summer, however, and Rodriguez looks like a certain target.

The defensive midfielder has played 28 times for the Gunners during 2020/21, scoring two goals and collecting seven yellow cards.

Betis are enjoying a decent campaign though and occupy sixth place in La Liga.

The man with 10 caps for his Argentina isn’t afraid to get stuck in and is also extremely comfortable in possession of the ball.

It is claimed that Arsenal’s scouts have been monitoring Rodriguez for a while and that a move could be made in the summer.

The tidy performer has done well in Spain this season and it’s perhaps no surprise to see him linked with a Premier League switch.

Rodriguez would compliment a department that includes Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny just nicely.

Arsenal might not have the megabucks of the bigger clubs and persuing someone like Rodriguez could prove a shrewd addition for Arteta.
