Report: Arsenal revealed to have paid £15m for Ceballos loan
According to , the loan deal bringing Dani Ceballos to Arsenal will cost the Gunners £15 million. That figure includes a loan fee paid to Real Madrid, and the wages that will be paid to the 22-year-old over the course of the campaign.
The midfielder has joined the north London outfit on a one-year loan deal. The deal does not include a purchase option that the Gunners can take up. Therefore, it is highly likely that Ceballos will be returning to the Spanish capital next summer.

Considering Arsenal have only secured the Spaniard’s services for a single year, £15 million is a significant amount to be parting with. Yet, Arsenal’s desperation to replace Aaron Ramsey, who they recently lost on a free transfer, was always going to result in a costly solution.
If Ceballos steps up at the Emirates Stadium and effectively replaces the Welshman, then it will be impossible to argue that the £15 million was wasted. However, in that scenario, Ceballos’ value will also increase drastically, likely putting a permanent deal beyond the Gunners’ reach. In which case, Arsenal will be back to square one this summer.
Signing Ceballos on loan this summer may have been a solution to an immediate issue. However, it is not a long-term fix. Arsenal may find one of those even harder to come by next summer, especially if they miss out on Champions League qualification again this season.
