When fit, the Brazilian has been a key man for Mikel Arteta this season. However, as noted by The Sun, he is now set to spend a month on the sidelines due to injury.

With the summer emerging on the horizon, his injury has perhaps forced thoughts to start to turn to what his future holds beyond the end of the campaign.
The Sun notes that his current deal expires in the coming months. It is claimed that a final decision on his future will only be made at the end of the season.

But it is suggested that Luiz may have to agree to reduced terms if he hopes to stay. that Arsenal are reluctant to extend his contract while they are paying him £120,000-a-week.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, it appears that Luiz remains their most reliable option at centre-back. He seems to be one of the players who often makes those around him play better also.
Saturday’s defeat to Liverpool hinted that the Gunners are not ready to move on from the 33-year-old.
So if they can reach an agreement, Arsenal should welcome the chance to hold onto Luiz.
It is not an ideal situation given his age. But it appears that Arteta’s men need him to stay.
