Report: Arsenal really admire ‘perfect’ 6ft 5inch midfield giant and his most likely destination this summer is London

Arsenal want to sign Belgian international midfielder Amadou Onana and as it stands, he is most likely to move to London.

The have reported on Nottingham Forest’s interest in the Lille 20-year-old after their promotion to the Premier League.

But they say that a host of clubs are interested, with the Gunners strong admirers of the 6ft 5in star as Mikel Arteta looks to improve his squad this summer.

They also say that Liverpool, Newcastle United and West Ham United are keen on the Belgian, with the latter offering £25 million for his services.

Arsenal want Onana

That offer has apparently been turned down, which offers an idea of the kind of money the Ligue 1 outfit are holding out for this summer.

Lille and Newcastle have already been in incredibly protracted negotiations over the last two transfer windows over Sven Botman.

That eventually got done, so perhaps the Magpies can build on that foundation, but Arsenal are also looking to improve their midfield.

Onana would be an exciting addition for any team, with the midfielder being  by Hamburg’s head of sport, Jonas Boldt, as a talent with ‘perfect’ qualities to go all the way to the top, which would explain why Arsenal are also interested in the 20-year-old.

Onana’s fellow Belgian Youri Tielemans has been a midfield target throughout the summer, but other deals seem to have been a more recent priority.

One of those is Oleksandr Zinchenko, who can play in the engine room, as well as offering cover at left-back, which may be why Arteta is seemingly trying to push on with that.

But it seems Onana wants to come to London, which could make it a straight shoot-out between Arsenal and West Ham, and we will wait and see how it plays out.
