Report: Arsenal make £50m-rated Everton star their number one target
Arsenal are once again considering a fresh bid for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with the claiming the England man is the number one choice for the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta has enjoyed success with young English players already. This summer saw him sign both Aaron Ramsdale and Ben White, while Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe have both shone under the Spaniard.
now report how Arsenal see Calvert-Lewin as the ideal forward to bolster their ranks. It comes as it looks increasingly likely that Alexandre Lacazette will move on in the summer. Meanwhile, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is continuing to struggle.

in the summer claimed Arsenal were considering a bid in excess of £50m for Calvert-Lewin. But Everton held firm, and managed to keep the former Sheffield United man.
Calvert-Lewin, 24, has had a frustrating season with injury. He is still yet return from his latest setback. However, his is proven at PL level, having scored 43 of his 68 career goals in the top flight. ()
TBR’s View: Calvert-Lewin screams perfect fit for Arsenal
Things aren’t going well for Everton right now and Arsenal might well be looking to capitalise on that by making their move for ‘DCL’. And on the surface, it’s easy to see why the Gunners want him.
Hard-working, young, a good finisher, and eager to keep improving, Calvert-Lewin very much fits the bill of a Mikel Arteta player. Certainly, you feel he’d lead the line better than the likes of Aubameyang are at the moment.
The Toffees, of course, will likely want more than that £50m quoted in the summer. Calvert-Lewin is a full England international after all, and one who will only get better.
But in terms of the ideal striker for Arsenal, you have to say the Everton man is right up there.
