that Marseille and Jorge Sampaoli face competition from Eduardo Camavinga’s Rennes. The report states that Rennes have spoken to Luiz directly while on holiday and are ready to offer the centre-back a new two-year deal.

Which club is best for Arsenal defender Luiz – Rennes or Marseille?

Both are in Europe next season. What it is probably going to come down to is how long either club offer him contract wise, how much they can afford in wages and which European competition they are in. Rennes have only qualified for the Conference League. Marseille are in the Europa League.

Marseille are certainly the more exciting of the two. Sampaoli in charge, with some proper household names in the squad. But it is unclear the length of contract they are ready to offer Luiz – and a two-year deal from Rennes might offer Luiz security. Marseille is the more exciting option.
