Report: Arsenal offered chance to sign Mourinho midfielder, for just £10m

that Arsenal have the chance to sign Amadou Diawara this summer. The website says that the Guinea international has been offered to Mikel Arteta’s side. A bargain figure of just £10million will be all it takes to get Diawara.

Diawara, 23, was in and out of the Roma side during 2020-21 under Paulo Fonseca – who has since been replaced by Jose Mourinho. The ex-Napoli and Bologna midfielder only played 18 times in Serie A out of a possible 38, starting just seven of those and completing 90 minutes on two occasions.

With Roma closing in on a move to sign Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, and landing Rui Patricio from Wolves, Mourinho wants to ship out some of his fringe players. At the top of the list is Diawara. The report says he has been offered to Arsenal for a bargain £10million.

Diawara is ideal midfield depth that Arsenal really need, at £10m

Arsenal are likely to bring in a first-team midfielder alongside Thomas Partey. But having lost Dani Ceballos, Matteo Guendouzi and potentially both Lucas Torreira and Granit Xhaka – they really lack depth. Signing the long-term partner for Partey is not enough, they need cover.

At £10million, that is where Diawara is perfect. He is more than happy to sit on the bench, at just 23. As long as he gets around 25 games in the cups, the odd Premier League outing from the start, then he will be happy. A no-brainer for Arsenal if Roma are offering Diawara for £10m.
