Report: Arsenal now want to sign ‘phenomenal’ player Tottenham were frontrunners to sign in June

Arsenal are ready to battle Roma to sign Eintracht Frankfurt defender Ivan Ndicka, who has also been linked with Tottenham.

Spurs were reportedly frontrunners to sign Ndicka in June after he helped the

report that former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho wants to bring the defender to the Italian capital if he possibly can.

But Arsenal want him to bolster their backline, although Mikel Arteta already looks pretty well-stocked in that area of the pitch.

Arsenal want Ndicka

The report names Arsenal but also says that other Premier League clubs are interested, so perhaps Spurs are still keen.

Spurs have got Clement Lenglet on loan but need a long term elite option at centre-half and the fact Ndicka is left-footed means he is ideal to take up the Frenchman’s spot next season.
