According to , Arsenal are extensively scouting Serie A strikers Victor Osimhen and Lautaro Martinez with the view of signing them in the summer.

The Gunners lost Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in February. They are set to be without Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah as well next season, which makes at least one new striker, if not two, an absolute necessity.

Almost every Arsenal fan is convinced that Mikel Arteta and Edu will spend big on a striker but the question is – ‘who will that be?’

Martinez and Osimhen are two excellent options.

Arteta is very specific when it comes to the type of players he wants in his side.

With respect to a new striker, whoever comes in must not only be prolific in front of goal, he should also have the ability to drop deep and link play up when required. Osimhen and Martinez check that box.

The Napoli man, despite missing over two months of action due to a cheekbone fracture and Covid, has managed to score 15 goals in all competitions this season, which is a stunning return.

Martinez has been brilliant too. The Argentine, , has scored 16 times this season, and he’s set to be on the move as well this summer.

TBR View:

Arsenal would love both Martinez and Osimhen this summer but it’s unlikely that they’ll be able to sign both of them.

The tricky decision Arteta and Edu have to make is to choose one of them, which won’t be easy at all as they are arguably the two best strikers in the Serie A at the moment.

If it was up to us, we’d go with Osimhen. The Nigerian is a lot more complete than Martinez and he would offer Arsenal something they haven’t had since Olivier Giroud left the club – an aerial threat in attack.

However, the Nigerian is set to cost an absolute fortune this summer, which could complicate things for the Gunners.
