Report: Arsenal now ready to sell their ‘special’ player for just £8m
, Arsenal have lowered their asking price for goalkeeper Bernd Leno as talks progress with Premier League new boys Fulham.
Arsenal and Fulham have been in negotiations over Leno throughout the transfer window, with talks dragging on over the German goalkeeper’s asking price, which was set at £11m.

However, Fulham had been unwilling to match Arsenal’s valuation and in the last few days have been linked with re-signing who played for the club when they were relegated in 2019, and Barcelona’s .
, Arsenal are now willing to let Leno go for £8m and the 30-year-old is keen to join Marco Silva’s side as he hopes to break back into the German national team ahead of this winter’s World Cup in Qatar.
Leno a priority signing for Fulham
Fulham’s Championship-winning side focused on outscoring their opponents to win games, with Aleksandar Mitrovic leading the charge, scoring an incredible 43 goals.
However, they have failed on both previous occasions to stay in the Premier League after promotion, and signing a player like Leno could make them much harder to beat.
Current first choice goalkeeper Marek Rodak wasn’t trusted in the Premier League two seasons ago with Alphonse Areola signed on loan, and Leno would also represent an upgrade on the Slovakian stopper.
Rodak only kept 14 clean sheets in 33 Championship matches last season, six fewer than Bournemouth’s Mark Travers who lead the way in England’s second tier.

Leno’s minutes at Arsenal have been limited by the signing of England international Aaron Ramsdale, as he made just four appearances for the Gunners in the Premier League last season, and the signing of American Matt Turner this summer has seriously impressed Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
After what could be Leno’s final league appearance for Arsenal, “a top, top keeper.”
“He came in (to the starting XI) and looked (like) his special self,” he said.
Time is running out for Fulham to make additions to their squad before next weekend’s opening game at home to Liverpool, with midfielders Joao Palhinha and Andreas Pereira their only confirmed signings.
