Report: Arsenal now ready to pay more than £70m for ‘ridiculous’ player

Arsenal are prepared to offer more than £70 million to sign Dusan Vlahovic during the January transfer window amid concerns that he could move elsewhere, .

Vlahovic is one of the most highly sought-after players in Europe. He has been a revelation with Fiorentina. And he has scored 16 goals in 19 Serie A games this season.

Arsenal meanwhile, have struggled for goals from their strikers. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah have managed seven between them in the Premier League.

Aubameyang has not played since the start of December. He has also lost the captaincy. Nketiah and Lacazette are currently set to leave on free transfers in the summer.

Arsenal however, are seemingly not prepared to wait until the end of the season to land a new striker. In fact, they are ready to go big to get their top target this month.

that the Gunners are wary of losing Vlahovic to a rival. The likes of Liverpool, Newcastle and Juventus all want the Serbia international. And with that, Arsenal are understood to be willing to pay over £70 million to sign Vlahovic before the deadline.

Arsenal would win transfer window by signing Dusan Vlahovic this month

Arsenal could hardly make a bigger statement in the window. Vlahovic is one of the most exciting strikers in Europe. He has certainly been one of the most prolific over the last 18 months. Micah Richards labelled him ‘ridiculous‘.

The Gunners still have plenty to play for this season. But signing Vlahovic could be so much more significant. It is frightening to think that he is only 21 years of age. He turns 22 this month.

Waiting until the summer would be a big gamble. There are already a host of sides chasing his signature.

They may have to pay more to secure a move midway through the season. But Arsenal will not care one bit if Vlahovic hits the ground running at the Emirates.
