Luiz scored Villa’s equaliser direct from a corner at the Emirates last night.

He couldn’t prevent his side from falling to another defeat, with Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli maintaining Arsenal 100% record this season.

Luiz and Martinelli were speaking at full-time, and seen high-fiving at the final whistle.

The 24-year-old has been in and out of Gerrard’s side this season, and has lost every match he’s appeared in.

This is in stark contrast to Mikel Arteta’s side, and he could go from the relegation zone to top of the league today.

Arsenal ready to make a move for Luiz

Arsenal have filled a number of key positions in the transfer window this summer.

Jesus has been sensational as Arsenal’s new centre-forward.

Oleksandr ZInchenko has also come into the side and played brilliantly, keeping Kieran Tierney out of the starting line-up.

The Gunners have been looking at midfielders all summer, but haven’t brought a player in yet.

Palmeiras’ Danilo has also been linked with a move to England, but that now looks very unlikely.

Douglas Luiz’s contract situation makes him an easier target for Arsenal.

The combative midfielder is also clearly a great set-piece taker, as Arsenal fans saw for themselves last night.

It wouldn’t take him long to settle into the squad, and clearly already knows Martinelli well.

Arsenal are now ready to make a move for the 24-year-old.
