Report: Arsenal now keen to sign £55m ‘world-class’ attacker after missing out on Mudryk

The last 24 hours have been eventful to say the least for Arsenal in the transfer market.

After spending so long courting Shakhtar winger Mykhaylo Mudryk, it now appears he’s on his way to Chelsea.

The Gunners have had a brilliant campaign, and Mikel Arteta has stuck with the same line-up as often as possible.

Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have been outstanding on the wings, but Arsenal do lack quality depth in those areas.

With Gabriel Jesus now unavailable, if anything were to happen to his replacement Eddie Nketiah then they would be in trouble.

that Arsenal are keen on Barcelona winger Ferran Torres, and have contacted the club about his availability.

The £55m forward has been in and out of the team this season, and has only started six league games.

Typically used as an option off the bench, Torres could be the player that solves Arsenal’s need for another forward.

Arsenal keen on Barcelona forward Torres

The ‘world-class’ winger has been linked with a move to The Emirates in the past.

Just last month, Barcelona insiders suggested that a move in January was unlikely for Torres.

However, Arsenal have now shown in their pursuit of Mudryk how much money is available to spend this month.

, which would certainly give Barcelona something to think about if they made a similar move for Torres.

Arsenal have believed for some time that they have a chance of signing Torres.

He’s played slightly less minutes than Raphinha, who has also been linked with a move to The Emirates.

Barcelona would be unlikely to let both players leave this month, although their precarious financial position might benefit Arsenal.

Arsenal appear to be keen on Torres, but will also have plenty of other targets in mind.

After being so focused on Mudryk, they will need to quickly decide on who their next target is.

It could be Torres that ends up in an Arsenal shirt by the end of the month.
