Report: Arsenal now face competition from Premier League club to sign ‘fantastic’ Englishman this summer
Everton want to sign talented English central defender Levi Colwill now that the summer transfer window is open.
The report that Frank Lampard wants Colwill as he seeks to build a squad capable of avoiding a relegation battle next season.
Lampard of course used to manage Chelsea, where he gave a number of opportunities to the club’s young starlets.
Colwill is part of the next generation coming behind and he spent the last season on loan with Huddersfield in the Championship.

Everton want Colwill
The report says that Thomas Tuchel could well make Colwill part of his squad next season as he reshapes his defence.
But if he doesn’t, Everton are now among several Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Southampton, Leicester, Fulham and Brighton keen on Colwill.
Arsenal’s interest was reported last month, with Mikel Arteta perhaps still needing a fourth central defender he can trust.
That said, William Saliba is now coming back, and Arteta may well be careful not to do anything which would impact on the Frenchman’s development.

“When people like that come in, he’s a young player and you question is he going to perform?” Colwill’s Huddersfield team-mate told
“But he has stepped into the Championship unbelievably well. I’m sure he’s got a fantastic career ahead of him at the highest level.”
Colwill looks like a Premier League and perhaps even England defender in waiting with a big future in the game ahead of him.
