Arsenal now expecting bids for ‘special’ midfielder; he could follow Aaron Ramsdale and Fabio Vieira out the door

With a week to go until the transfer window slams shut, it looks like Arsenal are going to be busy when it comes to potential exits.

The Gunners have had a busy summer and while only one summer arrival has been confirmed, they’ve been hard at work moving players on as well.

Emile Smith Rowe joined Fulham, while Eddie Nketiah is close to agreeing a deal to sign for Nottingham Forest.

Further, Aaron Ramsdale is said to be a major target for Southampton, while Fabio Vieira is on his way out of Arsenal to join Porto.

All in all, then, it’s a busy boardroom right now at The Emirates and according to reports, yet another player could follow those players out the door.

It comes as Nelson has failed to make a big impression on proceedings and very much finds himself down the pecking order.

Leicester City are thought to be among the teams keen on Nelson, while West Ham have also been credited with an interest in the midfielder.

Arsenal, of course, will pocket pure profit in terms of PSR if they do sell Nelson.

And with £30m in the bank for Smith Rowe and the same to follow for Nketiah, it could well be a hugely successful window for the Gunners.

Reiss Nelson needs to leave

There is just no point in Reiss Nelson sitting around at Arsenal and not playing, unless he is simply happy to pick up his big wage.

The ‘‘ Nelson is at the stage now where ne needs to move on and play regularly and prove himself.

Similar to Eddie Nketiah, Nelson has given it enough time at Arsenal now to know it’s never really going to work.

A move before Friday, then, would be ideal all around here.
