Report: Arsenal now actively pursuing ‘exceptional’ striker
Arsenal are now actively pursuing a move for Alexander Isak amid doubts over whether their bid to sign Dusan Vlahovic will succeed, .
The Gunners have been heavily linked with Vlahovic throughout the January transfer window. In fact, it was claimed that Arsenal were prepared to pay over £70 million for the Serbian.

The importance of signing a new striker appears to have ramped up considerably. Arsenal have not won a single game in any competition this month. And they have failed to score in their last four.
Of course, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had been away on international duty. But he had been out of the fold for several weeks before the turn of the year.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta’s men are starting to become pessimistic about their chances of signing Vlahovic. And with that, Isak appears to have moved up the wishlist.
that Arsenal are actively pursuing a deal for Isak. His contract does include a release clause – – but sources have told The Athletic that the Gunners will attempt to sign him for a lower fee.
Arsenal fans’ disappointment over Vlahovic will be allayed if Gunners sign Isak
Isak has not been prolific in La Liga this season. In fact, the 22-year-old only has four goals in 18 top-flight appearances. But in total, he has eight in 25 in all competitions.
Last season, Isak bagged 17 in 34 games for Real Sociedad. And he went on to shine with Sweden at Euro 2020. Gary Lineker labelled the striker ‘‘ after one display at the tournament.
Not signing Vlahovic will seem a big blow. He has been lethal in Serie A since the start of last season. But landing Isak instead would excite Arsenal supporters.
Arsenal need that boost in the final days of the January transfer window.
