Report: Arsenal trickster could be robbed of move by 26-year-old who flopped at Tottenham

Reiss Nelson is wanted man this summer but ex-Tottenham player Georges-Kevin Nkoudou could rob the Arsenal man of a move to Olympiacos.

The Greek champions have been monitoring the progress of Nelson for a while. Brentford, Crystal Palace and Brighton all provide domestic options for the player.

A Hale End graduate, the 21-year-old has fallen way down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta. During 2020/21, he made just nine appearances for the club, registering just two goal contributions.

In total, he’s played 47 games for the Gunners and in fairness, he’s failed to really unleash his true potential. As a result, a move looks best for all parties.

The interest from Olympiacos was certainly interesting. They operate in the Champions League and typically play attacking football which would suit Nelson’s style of play.

Now, it looks as though a former Tottenham man could be about to scupper his chances of a move to Greece.

the Evangelos Marinakis-owned club are lining up a move for Nkoudou.

The 26-year-old is currently at Besiktas after spending three largely unsuccessful years with Tottenham.

During his time playing with Arsenal’s fierce rivals, he played 27 times, scoring once and claiming two assists in all competitions.

Olympiacos are set to priorities the Frenchman. If they do, that means Nelson will face an anxious wait to see what other offers come in for him.

Going Greek would have been ideal for Arsenal misfit Nelson

You have to feel for Nelson. He’s fallen out of favour at the Emirates Stadium and desperately needs a move.

The report plenty of enquiries have been made regarding his services; although no concrete offers have been forthcoming just yet.

A former Spurs man scuppering the chance to head to Greece and the chance of a fresh start is a firm kick in the teeth for Nelson.

The trickster will hope that his wait for a new club doesn’t drag on much longer.
