Report: Arsenal make contact with 19-goal Brazilian striker’s agent; Edu can sign him for £12.7m

According to , Arsenal and Shakhtar Donetsk are interested in signing Internacional striker Yuri Alberto in one of the next two transfer windows.
The Gunners are in desperate need of a striker. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hasn’t scored a league goal since October, while Alexandre Lacazette has found the net just once in the Premier League all season – that came almost two months ago as well.
Arsenal fans want Mikel Arteta and Edu to dive into the market in January to sign a number nine who will solve their woes in front of goal. The likes of Dusan Vlahovic, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Alexander Isak have all been linked, but if the report is to be believed, the Gunners are looking at someone who is yet to play at the top level.
Yuri Alberto, still only 20, is the man who has reportedly caught Edu’s attention ahead of the January transfer window.
Arsenal want to sign Yuri Alberto
The report claims that Arteta’s Arsenal have reached out to Andre Cury, the agent of Yuri Alberto, to discuss what it would take to sign him
The 20-year-old, who made his senior debut at Neymar’s old club Santos in 2017, didn’t quite make it there. After just 16 appearances, he joined Internacional, where he has made a name for himself as one of the most talented young strikers in the country, especially this season.
Alberto has scored 19 goals and has provided four assists so far this term. He still has over three and a half years left on his contract, but the report claims that Internacional will consider selling if a bid in the region of £12.7 million is tabled by Arsenal or any other interested club.

Do Arsenal need another young striker?
Arsenal are set to lose Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette in January for a small fee or in the summer for free. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may also be shown the door considering how poor he has been since the start of last season.
That would leave Arsenal with Gabriel Martinelli and Folarin Balogun up top. The two youngsters have the potential to become superstars in a few years’ time, but what the Gunners need at the moment is someone who can come in and hit the ground running.
Yuri Alberto may well be an exceptional talent, but Arsenal have Mika Biereth and Nikolaj Moller coming through as well. That’s four young strikers already and the last thing they need is another one.
The Arsenal technical director should focus on bringing in someone prolific who will solve their attacking issues. Vlahovic and Calvert-Lewin are both excellent options, but they will not be cheap, which leaves Arteta and Edu in a tricky position ahead of next month’s transfer window.
