Report: Arsenal-linked defender Dan-Axel Zagadou eager to leave Borussia Dortmund
According to reports in Germany, Dan-Axel Zagadou could be on the move this summer. Arsenal target Zagadou might leave Borussia Dortmund ahead of next season, .
There are no guarantees over Zagadou’s playing time after the return of Mats Hummels. As a result, Zagadou could be looking for a new club this summer for around £27m.
The 20-year-old already has 38 senior appearances to his name as a Borussia Dortmund player. Despite his young age, the towering centre-back is already a proven performer at the top level.
But Hummels’ return poses a problem. And a move could be on the cards this summer with Arsenal reportedly interested ().

Arsenal’s priority position
Unai Emery is desperate to bolster his centre-back options. Arsenal’s defence was a problem last season and Zagadou could be a long-term solution to this issue.
Rob Holding’s injury record is concerning. Meanwhile, Shkodran Mustafi’s form has been questionable. Doubt surrounds the future of Laurent Koscielny. And returning loanees Calum Chambers and Krystian Bielik are untested at the top level.
This all points to the need to strengthen in central defence. Emery has noticed this and several centre-backs, including Zagadou, are on the Gunners’ radar.
TBR’s view
£27m is a sizeable investment but Arsenal would potentially have a top-class centre-back for the long-term future. The former PSG defender is still very young and will only improve with more game time.
The sky is the limit for the talented France U20 international. And with a 6ft 5in frame, he will not struggle to adapt to the physicality of the Premier League.
