Report: Arsenal-linked £102k-a-week defender makes decision on his future

Reported Arsenal target Layvin Kurzawa has reportedly made a decision on his future, according to .

The Paris Saint-Germain defender is out of contract at the end of August and was heavily linked with a switch to Mikel Arteta’s Gunners during the January transfer window.

Reported interest from Arsenal remains going towards the summer window, with claiming earlier in June that contact over a prospective move remained and that Arteta liked Kurzawa’s attacking profile.

However, despite making just 14 appearances in Ligue 1 this season, it appears as though both PSG and Kurzawa have decided to stick rather than twist.

According to , Kurzawa – who has made 123 competitive appearances for PSG – is on the brink of signing a new four-year extension to his contract in the French capital.

TBR View:

Although Kurzawa’s form has been somewhat mixed over the past few years, losing his PSG first-team place to Juan Bernat, the £ is still a high-quality player more than capable of delivering at the highest level.

Given PSG have lost several players on frees this season, on top of the football industry being set for a huge financial blow in wake of the global health crisis, it looks as though the French champions have opted not to add Kurzawa to that list and end up having to look for a replacement.

It’s a shame for Arsenal if the reports were to be true and they were to lose out on the 13-capped France international, but at the same time, the Gunners do have Bukayo Saka, Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac in their ranks so it’s not that pressing an issue compared to, say central defence.
